The Pharmacotherapy Research Center (PRC) is a collaborative hub for the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences faculty that are interested in clinical and translational pharmacotherapy research activities. This UB-designated center brings together pre-clinical advances in the laboratory with clinician scientists to develop novel concepts to advance pharmacotherapy through innovative research programs. In addition, the PRC has developed Phase II translational research programs through collaborations with regional health systems and health insurance providers, with web-based data collection, database management, and data integration through a regional Pharmacotherapy Information Center .

Investigators are able to gain access to many levels of research expertise within the center's program faculty and personnel resources. In addition to intellectual resources, the center's facilities include a Clinical Research Center for the conduct of clinical studies, a Core Analytical Laboratory to develop, validate and operate new methodologies, and a Pharmacometrics Unit to provide study design suggestions and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic analysis of research data.

Students, residents and fellows within the PRC are integrated into some of the center's activities, providing them with valuable exposure and learning experiences in the research processes. The center is supported by key administrators in the areas of: grant submission, financial management, information technology, data management and network development, safety and regulatory compliance, and laboratory organization and certification.
